Bioshock 2

What we heard: Ever since it was first rumored a year ago, BioShock 2 has garnered no small amount of attention. That interest was piqued further in March when the game was officially announced as coming out between August 1 and October 31, 2009. Finally, during a June conference call, Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick revealed that there would be a third BioShock, which would likely be released alongside director Gore Verbinkski's big-screen adaption of the game.

Final Debate

Candidates Clash Over Character and Policy

At times showing anger and at others a methodical determination to make all his points, Mr. McCain pressed his Democratic rival on taxes, spending, the tone of the campaign and his association with the former Weather Underground leader William Ayers, using nearly every argument at his disposal in an effort to alter the course of a contest that has increasingly gone Mr. Obama’s way.

But Mr. Obama maintained a placid and at times bemused demeanor — if at times appearing to work at it — as he parried the attacks and pressed his consistent line that Mr. McCain would represent a continuation of President Bush’s unpopular policies, especially on the economy.

Angel Island fire seen for miles

A fast-moving brush fire atop Angel Island shot flames high in to the air and glowed so brightly Sunday night that it could be seen for miles around San Francisco Bay by residents in several counties.

Residents in San Francisco, Marin, Contra Costa and Alameda counties - from the hills in San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland and El Cerrito to the shorelines along Richmond, Tiburon, Sausalito and San Francisco described the fire as spectacular and massive.

The fire, reported about 9 p.m. Sunday, grew quickly and had consumed up to 100 acres on the east side of the island by 11:15 p.m., fire officials said. At 740 acres, Angel Island is the largest island in San Francisco Bay.

"We are dealing with some real heavy vegetation and some very active flames kicking up," said Marin County Fire Battalion Chief Mike Giannini. "It is challenging not only because of the heavy vegetation but in getting crews up there. First they have to be brought in by boat. And once they get over there, they have to get up to the top of the island."

Chinese astronauts take a spacewalk

"Despite incessantly urging other countries to adopt its way of doing business, America has always had one economic policy for itself and another for the rest of the world. Throughout the years in which the US was punishing countries that departed from fiscal prudence, it was borrowing on a colossal scale to finance tax cuts and fund its over-stretched military commitments. Now, with federal finances critically dependent on continuing large inflows of foreign capital, it will be the countries that spurned the American model of capitalism that will shape America's economic future."

It had to happen one day.

"The screens are now slightly larger at 3.25 inches, photos can be synced to the Wii Photo Channel, and the unit will include a free browser application."

I wonder if this is the last update of the Nintendo DS.
